Twin sisters McKenna and Madison Witt combined for 21 kills and 13 digs Friday as the Lancers dominated the Wildcats, 25-12, 25-16, 25-10, in Friday's late match in the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase at the Alaska Airlines Center.

CBU (6-0) also got eight kills, 12 digs and four total blocks from Lauren Hackett as it outhit the defending California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament champions .315 to .000.

Chico State (5-3) was led by seven kill and eight digs from outside hitter Olivia Mediano.

Match 7: #11 Western Washington 3, #15 Concordia-Irvine 1
Arielle Turner and Abby Phelps each notched 14 kills and Phelps added 22 digs Friday to lift the Vikings past the Eagles, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, for their second win of the day at the D2 West Region Showcase at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Vikings (5-2) also got 11 kills and six block assists from Michaela Hall and 46 assists from setter Brette Boesel as they won the hitting battle, .247 to .179.

The Eagles (4-2) were led by 15 kills on .361 hitting by Cindy Tran.

Match 5: Chico State 3, #15 Concordia-Irvine 1
Olivia Mediano had 13 kills and 19 digs to pace the Wildcats to an upset of the Eagles and give the California Collegiate Athletic Association its first victory at the Anchorage pod of the D2 West Region Showcase on Friday.

Libero Brooke Fogel had 20 digs and five assists for Chico State (5-2), which won the hitting battle .210 to .159.

Rachel Flynn had 12 kills and nine digs for Concordia (4-1), from the Pacific West Conference.

Match 4: #10 Western Washington 3, #11 Cal St. San Bernardino 2

Abby Phelps and Joellee Buckner both delivered huge double-doubles and the Vikings scored the final three points to earn a 25-19, 20-25, 20-25, 25-15, 15-12 victory over the Coyotes in Friday’s morning match of the D2 West Region Showcase at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The defending Great Northwest Athletic Conference and West Region runners-up got 15 kills, 15 digs and four aces from Phelps, while Buckner had 10 kills, four aces and came one shy of her career high with 29 digs.

Michaela Hall added 12 kills and seven block assists for WWU, which improved to 4-2.

CSUSB (3-3) was led by 20 kills and 20 digs from outside hitter Lauren Nicholson, but the defending California Collegiate Athletic Association champions were outblocked 17-5 and victimized by 12 Viking aces.

Tied 12-12 in the fifth, WWU took the lead when Moira Murphy’s attack went long for the CSUSB, and Buckner closed it out with two straight aces.
