Former Seawolf Jesse Brown returns to the Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball staff for his second season in 2017-18 and his first as a full-time assistant assistant coach. He spent the 2016-17 campaign as a volunteer assistant, contributing to a team that went 21-8 and finished runner-up in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Born and raised in Anchorage, Brown spent seven seasons coaching in the Northwest Athletic Conference, including the last two as associate head coach at Green River Community College in Washington. He spent the 2007-08 campaign and from 2009-13 as an assistant at his JC alma mater, Tacoma Community College, before serving as interim head coach in 2013-14. Brown also served as a volunteer assistant for the 2008-09 UAA women’s team that went 31-4 and advanced to the NCAA Div. II semifinals.
After suiting up for the Seawolves from 2001-04, Brown earned his B.A. in history from UAA in 2009. He added a master’s degree in human performance (coaching emphasis) from Adams State University in 2016.
