FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks won the men's 7.5K and women's 5K race over the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in Day 2 of the Alaska Nordic Cup on Saturday.

The UAF women were perfect for the second straight day, posting 15 points to UAA's six. On the men's side, UAF outdistanced UAA, 11-10. After two days of races, UAF leads overall, 54-24.

Picking up a runner-up finish for UAA was Viktor Braennmark with a time of 22:19.6, trailing UAF's Logan Hanneman (22:16.2). Rounding out the top three was junior Lasse Molgaard-Nielsen at 22:22.0, while Lukas Ebner (22:25.9) was sixth.

Scoring for the UAA women was freshman Marine Dusser (17:38.2), while Patricia Sprecher (17:57.1) was eighth and Karina Smith (18:04.4) crossed in 10th.

The Seawolves will compete in the final day of the Cup on Sunday, weather permitting.
