ANCHORAGE - Freshman Katelynn Zanders led a dominant Alaska Anchorage effort with 12 kills Friday night as the Seawolves swept to a 25-16, 25-9, 25-22 victory over Adelphi in the SpringHill Suites Invitational volleyball tournament.

The victory gave the Seawolves (3-3) their second win of the day and clinched a spot in Saturday's 7 p.m. title match against Western New Mexico, which also won its two matches on Friday.

Adelphi (3-3) was led by seven kills from Colleen Raga but the Panthers were out-hit .232 to .042 by their hosts and out-dug 52-29.

The Seawolves controlled play throughout the match as senior setter Kimya Jafroudi finished with 30 assists, eight digs and three aces. Freshman outside hitter Julia Mackey had a season-low five kills but made amends with a season-best 13 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Sarah Johnson had eight kills, while libero Siobhan Johansen and defensive specialist Jordan Bush managed eight digs apiece.

Round-robin play concludes early Saturday when UAA faces Western New Mexico in an title-match preview at 11 a.m., followed by Adelphi vs. Dixie State at 1 p.m.
