Bronga collects RMISA Nordic MVP honor

ANCHORAGE – Following the conclusion of the regular season, Alaska Anchorage senior Jaime Bronga was named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association women’s Nordic MVP honor.

Throughout the 2012 slate, Bronga amassed 387 points, edging Colorado’s Eliska Hajkova (380). A three-time All-American, Bronga never finished lower than fourth place in all eight races, while recording two individual victories and two runner-up performances.

Finishing fifth in the MVP standings was senior Laura Rombach (354 points), while classmate Steffi Hiemer was 10th with 294 points.

The last Seawolf to claim a RMISA MVP award was senior Alex Parker (Alpine) at the conclusion of her freshman campaign in 2009.

The Seawolves will head to Bozeman and Big Sky, Mont., for the RMISA/ NCAA Western Regional Championships on Feb. 24-25 after the RMISA Alpine Qualifier on Feb. 22-23. On March 7-10, qualified individuals will competed at the NCAA Skiing Championships at the same venues.
