WOODLAND, Calif. – Six Alaska Anchorage gymnasts have been honored for their classroom success as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced its 2019 Women's Gymnastics All-Academic Team on Friday.

Among the 35 total honorees from the MPSF's six institutions, UAA junior Mackenzie Miller produced the second-highest overall grade-point average at 3.87. An accounting major from Waterford, Mich., Miller was joined by teammates Isabelle Fox, Kennedy Green, Sophia Hyderally, Kaylin Mancari and Isabella Scalapino on the all-academic squad.

A senior natural sciences major from High Point, N.C., Mancari earned her third career MPSF academic award with a 3.54 GPA, while Green, a junior accounting major from Highlands Ranch, Colo., produced UAA's second-best GPA at 3.56 to earn repeat honors.

Fox (So., Houston, Texas, 3.44, physical education), Hyderally (Jr., Daphne, Ala., 3.30, international studies) and Scalapino (So., Cedar Park, Texas, 3.47, health sciences) were all first-time honorees.

To be eligible for the MPSF All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must carry a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, be in at least her second season, and compete in at least 50 percent of meets. As such, all six eligible Seawolves made this year's team.
