Seawolves open outdoor campaign in Salem

Alaska Anchorage will open the 2019 outdoor track and field season at the Willamette Invite, Saturday, March 22nd. 
School-Record Holders
The Seawolves will have eight outdoor school-record holders (four men, four women) on the roster this year. For the men, Oshane Hylton holds both the 100 and 200 marks, David Sramek in the pole vault and Brandon Nicholson in the triple jump. For the women, Danielle McCormick holds the 800 record, and Caroline Kurgat holds the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 marks. 
 The Seawolves enjoyed a strong indoor campaign breaking 10 school records. For the men; David Sramek (pole vault), Brandon Nicholson (triple jump) and the distance medley relay. For the women; Danielle McCormick (800), Caroline Kurgat (mile, 3,000, 5,000), Chrisalyn Johnson (long jump & triple jump) and distance medley relay. 
Last Time Out
UAA concluded the indoor season with a number of amazing performances at the NCAA Championships. Senior Caroline Kurgat set championship records on her way to winning the 3,000 and 5,000. Danielle McCormick finished third in the 800, and the women's distance medley finished second. The women's team brought home a trophy finishing fourth as a team. The men's distance medley relay team finished seventh. Overall the Seawolves had 11 student-athletes earn All-American honors. 
Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will split time between the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Stanford Invite March 29-30.
