SEATTLE – Alaska Anchorage ran a school-record and the 8th-fastest time in NCAA Div. II this season in the men's distance medley relay at the Seattle Pacific Last Chance Qualifier Saturday.
The relay team of Felix Kemboi, Nathanial Brunett, Eduardo Orozco and Drew Johnson ran an NCAA provisional time of 9:50.19, five seconds faster than the previous school record (9:55.86) set in 2016.
The Seawolves picked up three wins on the day.
Danielle McCormick ran a season-best time of 2:10.63 to win the 800 and moved up to 13th in NCAA Div. II this season. Teammate Ruth Cvancara also ran a season-best time of 2:12.92 to finish third and moved up to 24th in Div. II.
Nancy Jeptoo won the mile in a time of 4:51.09 and is ranked 11th in Div. II.
Vanessa Aniteye ran 56.28 to win the 400, and Marie Ries was fifth in 58.96.
David Sramek finished second in the 200 (22.90) and fifth in the pole vault (14-6).
UAA finished second in both triple jump events with Chrisalyn Johnson leaping 38-5.5 and Brandon Nicholson 45-1.5.
Edwin Kangogo was second (8:28.94) and Nickson Koech was fourth (8:32.16) in the 3,000.
Daniel Remington was fourth in the 400 in a time of 50.89.
Alaska Anchorage will compete in the NCAA Div. II Indoor Track and Field Championships March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
