“Government offered a unique place to race and the preparations were fantastic,” said head Nordic coach Andrew Kastning. “Finishing third as a team is a great place to be as we head into NCAA's. Sigurd Roenning earned his first podium finish in freestyle since Steamboart Springs. But the race of the day goes to Casey Wright who had her best race in quite some time.”
JC Schoonemaker finished 18th (28:33), Austin Huneck 33rd (30:10) and Tracen Knopp 35th (30:33).
Utah leads the team standings with 170 points, followed by Colorado in second (168) and Alaska Anchorage third (137).
Erik Dengerud of Colorado won the men's race (26:50), and Guro Jordheim of Utah won the women's (15:05).
The UAA Invite will continue Thursday with the giant slalom at Alyeska. The Nordic teams will return to action with classic races at Kincaid Friday.
