BEMIDJI, MINN. – Drake Glover scored his first career goal for Alaska Anchorage but Bemidji State scored five straight goals to defeat the Seawolves 5-1 Friday.
“I thought we had a strong first period, but we got into some penalty trouble, and it unfortunately cost in the last two periods,” said head coach Matt Curley. “We have one more game before break to try to end on a positive note this first half and will give everything we can to try to make that happen.”
Drayson Pears found Glover on an odd-man rush at 2:36 of the first period.
Adam Brady tied the game at 1-1 with a power-play goal at 12:09.
Dillion Eichstadt scored with a one-timer at 15:08 of the second period to give the Beavers their first lead of the night 2-1.
Aaron Miller opened the third period with back-to-back goals with the first coming on a 5-on-3 powerplay at 44 seconds and the second even strength at 12:51.
Justin Baudry scored his first goal of the season at 14:48 to complete the scoring.
The Beavers finished 2-for-5 on the man-advantage and the Seawolves were 0-for-2.
BSU finished with a 44-21 edge in shots.
Kris Carlson recorded 39 saves for UAA.
Alaska Anchorage and Bemidji State will close out the weekend series Saturday at 2:07 pm Alaska time.
