The University of Alaska Anchorage will make its first road trip of the season when it plays at Colorado College this weekend (Oct. 13-14). This will mark the second straight weekend that UAA is facing a former WCHA foe after it hosted North Dakota last weekend.

Series
Colorado College leads the all-time series with Alaska Anchorage 18-53-6. The Seawolves have a 5-35-0 record against the Tigers in Colorado, but the two teams skated to a pair of ties the last time they met in Anchorage in 2013.

First Points
Two freshmen recorded their first career points for UAA last weekend. Jordan Xavier scored his first career goal at 18:45 of the third period to tie the game Friday night, and Joe Sofo recorded an assist on Jeremiah Luedtke’s goal at 17:44 of the third period Saturday.

Scoring Defense
Alaska Anchorage allowed four goals, one power play and one extra attacker, last week against North Dakota. The Seawolves rank tied for 13th nationally in scoring defense allowing just 2.0 goals per game.

Penalty Kill
UAA ranks tied for 17th nationally in penalty kill at 88.9% (8-9).

Mantha
Senior Olivia Mantha posted a stellar weekend in goal for the Seawolves to win WCHA Goalie of the Week honors. The La Tuque, Quebec native led the NCAA with 74 saves on the weekend, including a diving save in game two that was named No. 2 on the NCAA Hockey’s Top Saves. Mantha currently has 2,577 saves and needs 61 saves to pass Paul Krake (1989-92) for the most career saves in school history. He allowed four goals on the weekend but one came on the power play and another was scored with an extra attacker. Mantha passed Doug Teskey (1996-99) for second in career minutes played at UAA with 5315:17. He needs 563 minutes to pass Paul Krake (1989-92) for first in career minutes. Mantha ranks tied for 11th nationally in save percentage (.949) and 15th in goals against average (1.90).

Career Points
Senior Tad Kozun recorded the 55th point of his career when he assisted on Jordan Xavier’s game-tying goal Friday night. Kozun’s 55 career points lead all active UAA players.

Glencross Inducted
Former Seawolf great Curtis Glencross (2002-04) was inducted into the Seawolf Hall of Fame Sunday. He scored 21 goals and added 13 assists in 2003-04 and led UAA to the semifinals of the WCHA Final Five, its deepest run in the tournament in school history.

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage took No. 7 North Dakota to overtime in both games of the series finishing with a 1-1 tie in game one and a loss (3-2) in game two. Freshman Jordan Xavier scored the game-tying goal on Friday. Down 2-0 on Saturday, Jeremiah Luedtke and Nicolas Erb-Ekholm scored to push the game to overtime before Casey Johnson netted the game-winner for UND.

Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will play the first of six games against in-state rival Alaska Fairbanks as part of the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup. The non-conference series will open Oct. 20th in Anchorage before heading north to Fairbanks for the second game Oct. 21st.
