'Wolves end action at Husky Classic

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Alaska Anchorage Seawolves wrapped up the University of Washington's Husky Classic with seveal student-athletes competing on Saturday.

Racing for the Seawolves in Day 2 of the Classic were freshmen Joe Day and Elliott Bauer in the men's 800 and 400 meters, respectively. Day, a local of Palmer, posted a NCAA provisional time of 1:53.13, while Bauer was clocked at 50.31.

Junior Ethan Hewitt, who was seeded in the Invite portion of the meet with the top NCAA I runners, posted a time of 49.40 in the 400 meters.

On the women's side, UAA newcomer Karolin Anders furnished a leap of 5 feet and one-quarter inch in the high jump.

The Seawolves also saw action in the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays. The women's team - made up of Rosie Smith, Susan Bick, Sasha Halfyard and Haleigh Lloyd - posted a time of 3:55.83, just .03 seconds off the provisional time.

The men's foursome were clocked at 3:25.71.

The Seawolves will complete the weekend with the University of Washington Open meet tomorrow.
