Trueman gets shot at 2012 Olympics

Former Alaska Anchorage men's basketball standout Jeremiah Trueman was named this week to the final roster for the New Zealand 'Tall Blacks' National Team.

The 6-9 forward will be one of 12 players on the squad that will vie for a 2012 London Games berth at the FIBA Olympics Qualifying Tournament in Caracas, Venezuela, July 2-8.

Trueman, from Stratford, New Zealand, played for the Seawolves from 2007-09, finishing as one of the most accurate shooters in program history. In 2007-08, he played in all 35 games as the top post reserve for UAA's 29-6, NCAA Div. II Final Four team, and in 2008-09 he was the Seawolves' second-leading scorer at 15.8 ppg.

Trueman has spent his first three professional seasons in Australia's National Basketball League, including the last two campaigns with the Perth Wildcats.
