Skiers named to All-RMISA teams

ANCHORAGE – Five Seawolves were second-team honorees Monday as the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association announced its All-Conference team for both the men's and women's Alpine and Nordic squads.

Earning second-team honors were juniors Steffi Hiemer (women's Nordic) and Alex Parker (women's Alpine), sophomores Andreas Adde (men's Alpine) and Kayla Hoog-Fry (women's Alpine) and freshman Lukas Ebner (men's Nordic).

Three-time All-American Parker led the Seawolf pack with her third straight all-conference recognition. A local of Calgary, Alberta, Parker recorded four top-five finishes throughout the season, including a third-place result in the slalom at the NCAA West Regional last weekend.

Adde, from Osteras, Norway, recorded his second straight all-conference honor after placing in the top 10 in seven races this season, including a season-high third place at the Utah and Montana invites. The 2010 NCAA Slalom Champion, Adde was named All-RMISA First Team last season.

Hiemer claimed her first league honor with four top-10 showings during the regular season. The Kruen, Germany, native led the Seawolves in three races this season, including both the classical and freestyle races at the Utah Invite on Jan. 21-22.

Hoog-Fry (Reno, Nev.) was awarded the conference award for the first time with three top-10 finishes. Hoog-Fry led the Seawolves at the New Mexico Invite (Feb. 4-5) with two third-place results and finished 10th at the NCAA West Regional in the slalom.

Last, but not least, Ebner paced the Seawolves on the cross country trails with three top-10 times. Most recently, Ebner became the first Seawolf to win an event this season, picking up the men's 20K classical title at the NCAA West Regional Championships on Feb. 26.

The five will join six other Seawolves for the 58th NCAA Ski Championships, March 9-12 in Stowe, VT.
