SPOKANE, Wash. – Alaska Anchorage senior Marko Cheseto led the Seawolves to a perfect team score of 15 in the Hawaii Pacific Sand Island Invitational earning him the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Cheseto (Kapenguria, Kenya) raced to victory on Sept. 4 in Honolulu with a time of 14 minutes, 26 second, edging out teammate sophomore Micah Chelimo by seven seconds. The 2008 All-American paced the Seawolves to claiming the top-five positions for the win over Hawaii Pacific (58) and Chaminade (88).

Sophomore Raphaela Sieber from Alaska Fairbanks claimed the weekly honor on the women's side.
