Clark nets second WCHA honor

MADISON, Wis. - Senior forward Kevin Clark was honored with his second Red Baron Western Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week award this season for his performances in the Minnesota Duluth series, the conference announced today.

Clark, a Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, registered a four-goal weekend against the ranked Bulldogs on March 5-6. His 23 goals of the season currently leads the WCHA in the overall statistics and ranks him eighth in the nation - the most for a Seawolf since Derek Donald netted 23 in 1991-92.

The 5-9, 171-pounder leads UAA in six categories- points (37), goals, power-play goals (7), shots (108), penalties (34) and penalty minutes (79).

Clark picked up his first WCHA weekly honor on Jan. 20 for his six-point weekend against Michigan Tech on Jan. 15-16. The award is Clark's fourth of his career.

Minnesota State's Kurt Davis received the league's Defensive Player of the Week award, while teammate Phil Cook was the Rookie of the Week.

Clark will join the rest of the Seawolves this weekend as they face the No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers in the WCHA First Round playoffs.
