NEW MEXICO INVITE PREVIEW: The Seawolves have posted identical 5th-place finishes in the last two invites ... in both meets, UAA has trailed Utah, including a 7-point loss in the Montana State Invite ... in both invites, the UAA Nordic team has defeated Utah, while the Alpine team has fallen to the Utes ... host New Mexico, No. 1 in the latest NCAA Skiing Power Rankings, will likely be the dominant team after winning the Utah Invite and placing second at the MSU Invite ... both the Lobos Alpine team and the Colorado Buffalos' Nordic team are undefeated. UTAH INVITE RECAP: UAA posted a combined seven top-10 finishes throughout the invite for a 5th-place team finish ... leading the Seawolf charge and posting UAA's first Nordic victory since 2007 was freshman Michael Schallinger ... the Vachendorf, Germany, native completed the 20K freestyle race in 1 hour, 36.7 seconds ... on the women's Nordic side, sophomore Steffi Hiemer (19:18.2) recorded the Seawolves top finish, placing 4th in the 5K classic ... on the Alpine team, sophomore All-American Alex Parker registered two top-10 finishes, placing 3rd in the giant slalom and 9th in the slalom.
UP NEXT: The Seawolves will have the next weekend off before competing in the Nevada Invite on Feb. 19-20.
