vs. Grand Canyon: Tied 7-7 (0-1 on neutral court)  /  Streak: UAA 2  /  Last Meeting: UAA 90, GCU 61 (11/21/99 at UAA)  /  Notes: All 14 previous meetings occurred between 1991-99 … teams were former league rivals when UAA belonged the GCU's Pacific West Conference … GCU won only previous neutral-court meeting, 105-96, in the first round of the 1996 NCAA Tournament in Bakersfield, Calif.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Grace Bible College, from Grand Rapids, Mich., is the defending National Christian College Athletic Association Div. II national champion … the Tigers, who have won 27 straight game against fellow NCCAA D-II squads, have challenged just one NCAA Div. II team prior to UAA, losing 76-68 at Wisconsin-Parkside … Grand Canyon has played a hectic schedule that began with the Disney Tip-Off Classic and has featured  them play Western Washington three times (0-3) and Saint Martins twice (1-1) … the Antelopes, of the Pacific West Conference, feature a balanced lineup led by T.J. Benson (10.0 ppg, 3.5 apg, .426 3FG) and Justin Wesolowski (8.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, .508 FG).

GLACIER CLASSIC HISTORY: The Seawolves have won 12 straight Glacier Classic games and 13 of 14 all-time … UAA's last eight wins have come by double digits … UAA set the school record for single-game FT% with its 24-for-24 performance vs. BYU-Hawaii in Dec. 2005 … that year was the last time UAA faced a West Region opponent in the Classic until facing Grand Canyon on Saturday.

SHOOTOUT RECAP: The Seawolves posted a 1-2 record in the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout for the second straight year, losing to Washington State and Houston, and beating Nicholls State at the Sullivan Arena, Nov. 25-28 … in the first game,  Jr. G Brandon Walker scored a game-high 27 points, but the size and athleticism of WSU was too much for the host Seawolves as they lost 87-68 … UAA was powered by 8-of-13 shooting (5-8 3FG) from Walker, while fellow Jr. G Drew Robinson scored 14 points (4-8 FG, 5-6 FT) and dished 4 assists … the Seawolves battled through foul trouble all night, beginning when Jr. C Malcolm Campbell (7 pts, 5 rebounds) picked up his second foul just two minutes into the game … in the second game, Walker tallied game-highs of 21 points and 6 rebounds as the Seawolves recorded their 50th all-time win over a Division I opponent, taking a 72-58 decision against Nicholls … UAA also got 15 points from Campbell and 10 points from Drew Robinson as the team shot an impressive 75 percent (9 of 12) from three-point range … UAA took control from the start, jumping to a 14-4 lead in the first 6 minutes. Jr. F Casey Robinson scored all 8 of his points on perfect shooting (3-3 FG, 2-2 3FG) in the opening 20 minutes as the Seawolves built a 37-30 halftime edge … the Seawolves shot a season-best 58.5 percent (24-41) from the field, while holding the Colonels to 43.6 percent (24-55) … Jr. G Kevin White guarded NSU counterpart and fellow Australian Anatoly Bose closely throughout, holding the Colonels' leading scorer to 6 points – 13 under his average coming in … on the final day, UAA was led by a season-high 26 points from Campbell, plus 21 from Walker, but the lightning-quick Houston backcourt was too much to overcome in a 73-57 loss … Campbell and Walker both shot 8-of-13 from the field, while the rest of the Seawolves combined to make just 4 of 26 shots. Campbell sank 10 of 13 free throws, and Walker went 3-for-4 … Drew Robinson led UAA with season-bests of 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

GNAC HONORS WALKER: Jr. G Brandon Walker earned the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's co-Player-of-the-Week award for his performance in the Shootout … Walker was the tournament's second-leading scorer, tallying 69 points in three games … the 6-3, 200-pound Hayward, Calif., native also grabbed a team-high 17 rebounds and averaged 2.3 assists per game to go with lofty shooting percentages of .667 (24-36) from the field, .625 (10-16) from three-point range, and .846 (11-13) at the free-throw line … Walker came one point shy of his career-high with 27 in UAA's loss to eventual champion Washington State, and he tallied 21 points (8-10 FG, 3-4 3FG), 6 rebounds and 4 assists in UAA's 72-58 win over Nicholls State … after six career Shootout games, Walker now stands 11th on the tournament's all-time scoring list with 114 points.

'WOLF BITES: With 21 points against Houston, Jr. G Brandon Walker has now topped the 20-point barrier five times in his career, including four in the Shootout … in the early season GNAC stats, Walker ranks 5th in scoring (16.0 ppg), 2nd in 3FG% (.550) and 9th in FG% (.587) … Jr. G Kevin White has earned starting assignments in 32 of the last 33 games … White and fellow Jr. G Drew Robinson are tied for 7th in the GNAC with 3.4 assists per game … five games into his junior season, White ranks No. 10 on UAA's career 3FG% list (.424), plus No. 16 in 3FGs made (98) … So. C Malcolm Campbell rates 6th in the GNAC in scoring (16.0 ppg), FG% (.604) and blocks per game (1.0), plus 10th in rebounding … with 48 points, the Div. I transfer (Hartford) was the 7th-leading scorer in the recent Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, including a game-high 26 in the loss to Houston … Jr. G Donnie Lao currently sports the only perfect FT% among GNAC players, making his first 16 charities as a Seawolf.

INJURY REPORT: The Seawolves are free of any significant ailments.

SEAWOLVES IN THE SHOOTOUT: The Seawolves, the only Division II team and the only school to appear in every Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, now sport a 30-66 (.313) all-time mark in the tournament, including 8-16 since 2002 … the Seawolves have now won at least one game in 26 of the 32 Shootouts, including a string of 13 straight from 1985-97 … UAA's best finish has been 4th place, accomplished five times (1986, 1987, 1991, 2003, 2009), although this season's finish came vs. a smaller field … UAA has pulled first-round upsets four times (Maine 1996, Wake Forest 1993, Texas Tech 1990, and Pacific 1979) … here is a list of the other teams UAA has beaten at the Shootout: Auburn (1989), Canisius (2003), Dayton (1992), Grambling State (1999), High Point (2004), Idaho (1991), Iona (1988), Jackson State (1994), Louisiana Tech (2008), Miami, Fla. LOOK OUT, GOLIATH: After this year's Shootout performance, Division II UAA now owns a 50-131 all-time record against Division I opponents (regular season only) … the Seawolves' biggest upset came during the 1988-89 campaign when they beat then-No. 2 and undefeated Michigan, 70-66, at the Utah Seiko Classic; the Wolverines went on to win the NCAA title that year ... with the Nicholls win, UAA has now beaten at least one Division I school in 23 of the last 25 seasons.
